Leave Space for Mistakes

Management at the TPV contract electronics factory does not fine its employees for damaging parts. Quite the contrary: they encourage employees to talk openly about the parts scrapped and remind them that there will be no negative consequences.

When this happens, the manager’s task is to find out what imperfection in the workplace or equipment prevented the employee from performing their work well, and then fix it.
